Saw this accident near my office.

There were a RapidKL bus, a 4W car and motorcycle(s)

Someone died in the accident.

Life is SHORT!

Appreciate what you have and treasure the people around you...

At around 6.00 pm...the bus was towed away...

It's shown from the video that the driver was speeding and did not intend to stop when the light was turning to red, which was supported by the comment of one of the bus passengers. (From other sources, the bus driver might not be speeding but might be due to brake failure and it was coming down from a slope.)

The Hilux driver might be taken off a few seconds just about / after the light turned green -> How fast can a car that just takes off from a traffic light be?

Please take note that there was another yellow car, which looks like a MyVi besides the Hilux, took off slightly slower than the Hilux -> means the traffic light had already turned green.

No one knows exactly what had happened except for the drivers.

It does not really matter whose fault in causing this accident.

The accident had took away two precious lives.

RapidKL should be more careful in hiring a driver (I still think this is applicable. It's not all the drivers, who are driving recklessly. However, I had been using RapidKL since I was studying in MMU a few years back. Some of the drivers were really speeding while they were driving.) and as a driver of any public transports, please take care of the lives of your passengers and other road users.

There were many accident cases caused by reckless bus and lorry drivers, which caused not only their own lives but also others' lives.

Green - See left and right before Go

Yellow - Prepare to Stop and NOT press accelerator!

Red - STOP!

Video footage of the accident:

Source from a friend. The original source should be from a CCTV of the nearby office...

  6. Well was sitting near the second exit, as we approached the traffic light it changed yellow, the driver picked up speed unfortunately change red as we were getting there, the other side changed green, the 4WD moved immediately and we ran into it, from then on we were on a collision course.
Came out by kicking the door on my side open.
That's as much as I know, couldn't look at the scene as I approached the front so had to walk via old town cafe 2 Cyberia Apartments.

  9. I went to lunch at 12.00 pm. I saw a lot of people around the scene but I didn't take photo. I only took one on the way back from lunch at around 1.30 pm. I think I should write something on this so that everyone awares on this and be extra careful when driving :(

  10. We couldn't blame anyone in this accident. This was probably caused by loose brake pads, that’s why the bus didn't have the chance to slow down. But, how are the other people involved in the accident? They’re fine, aren’t they?

  11. Hi Amy,

Yes. Everyone, included the bus passengers, was unharmed or had minor injury only according to the sources.

  12. Accidents happen and we can’t change the fact that they will eventually happen to us. It can happen at any moment, especially when we least expect it. I’ve been reading the comments and I’m glad to have read a message from a person involved and explained the whole thing. I know we shouldn’t blame anybody but I guess it is right to bring justice for the lives lost.

  13. This accident reminds us that as we drive carefully, we must also obey traffic signs. I can almost feel the trauma of the people involved in the accident. I’m sure lives have been changed, especially those of the bereaved families. A year and a half have passed already, and I hope this case has been solved already. :)
