Don't be stupid to trust and tell your boss about something that is unrelated to your tasks or work.

He/she may have prejudice on you after that.

He/she will be smiling while you are telling sincerely about the thing that he/she would like to know.

He/she will most probably act as if he/she cares about you so that he/she can get what he/she wants to know.

There is a saying in Chinese "One time mistake, forever you will be marked and you will not be trusted or be used anymore."

Don't be too honest when it comes to colleagues or some friends whom you are not so closed with.

You won't know when you will be stabbed or betrayed.

Even to some of your relatives. . .

There are reasons why I am quiet most of the times... this will be one of the reasons...
